The Problem

Freight incidents cost you more than the claim.

When goods are lost or damaged, your customer calls you. Even when it's not your fault. You absorb the cost, dispute the claim, or refer them to a policy that doesn't fit. Every option damages the relationship.

FAQs

Questions? Done.

Find answers to FAQs about shipping insurance for senders of freight.

What’s the difference between Goods In Transit and Cargo Liability?

On Goods In Transit, your customer purchases the insurance policy directly — they are the insured party and you earn a commission. On Cargo Liability, you purchase the policy to cover your own liability and sell your own branded warranty to your customers at a price you set. Different commercial structures, different insured parties.

Who is the insured party on Goods In Transit?

The shipper — your customer. They purchase cover per consignment at the point of booking. You distribute the product and earn a commission. You are not the insured party.

What does my customer actually get?

A per-consignment insurance policy covering loss or damage to their goods in transit — from dollar one, no excess. Cover is confirmed instantly at the point of booking.

Is there an excess on claims?

No. Claims are assessed from dollar one. There is no excess payable by the insured. Note: on Goods in Transit policies, the policy responds above any applicable carrier warranty.

What happens when my customer makes a claim?

They lodge directly with FreightInsure. Our team manages assessment and settlement end-to-end. You receive the outcome data. Your team is not involved in the process.

How much commission do I earn?

Commission is calculated as a percentage of the premium your customer pays per policy. FreightInsure will confirm the commission structure during your commercial walkthrough.

How quickly can we go live?

How quickly can you move? It's possible to be up and running in a few days, but most distributors are live within two to three weeks. FreightInsure provides full API documentation, a sandbox environment, and a dedicated onboarding partner.
