The Problem

Your customers expect you to fix it when freight goes wrong.

Whether or not it’s your fault, when goods are lost or damaged, the call comes to you. Most carriers absorb the cost or dispute the claim. Cargo Liability is a third option.

What It Does

Cargo Liability is transit protection you sell under your own brand.

Your customers never see FreightInsure. They see your product — your name, your terms, your warranty. Behind it is a per-consignment insurance policy issued by FreightInsure for each shipment. The insurance is ours. The product is yours.

FAQs

Questions? Done.

Find answers to FAQs about shipping insurance for senders of freight.

What’s the difference between Cargo Liability and Goods In Transit?

On Goods In Transit, your customer buys the insurance policy directly — they are the insured party and you earn a commission. On Cargo Liability, you purchase the policy to cover your own liability as a carrier — you are the insured party, and you sell your own branded warranty to your customers at a price you set.

Do my customers know they're covered by FreightInsure?

Only if you want them to. Cargo Liability is designed to be fully white-labelled — your customers see your product name and your terms. FreightInsure is the insurance infrastructure behind it.

Am I taking on insurance liability by offering this?

No. You're the distribution channel. FreightInsure holds the AFSL, underwrites the policy, and manages every claim. Your obligation is to offer transit protection to your customers — the insurance obligations are ours.

What does my customer actually claim against?

Your warranty. When something goes wrong, your customer lodges a claim against the transit protection product you've sold them. FreightInsure then manages that claim on your behalf and settles it directly with your customer.

Is there an excess on claims?

No. Claims are assessed from dollar one. There is no excess payable by the insured.

What if a customer doesn't want to take it?

Cargo Liability is a per-consignment product — it can be offered on individual shipments. How you present it to customers — whether embedded as standard or offered as an option — is your commercial decision.

How quickly can we go live?

Most carriers are live within two to three weeks. FreightInsure provides a dedicated onboarding partner and full API documentation. Your team configures, not builds.
